This presumes that the player has followed the "Data Center" series of guides, up to and including Data Center 212. This also presumes the player is using at least Disney Infinity 2.0 (if not 3.0), as the guide number indicates:

  • 2## = applies to Disney Infinity 2.0 (and, effectively, 3.0)
  • #2# = should be both familiar and comfortable with the Editor, Magic Wand, Logic Gates, and making connections

Overview

This guide shows how to create a (simple) Combat Challenge, and includes the following Creativi-Toys:

Placement

  1. To begin, launch the game. From the Main Menu, select "Toy Box", then "Toy Box Saves", then select the Toy Box you saved from "Data Center 212".
  2. Either drop down or teleport to the "Data Center" floor.
  3. Replace the Power Switch near the Enemy Wave Generator with a Party Cannon.
  4. Delete the Kill Switch behind the Long Pipe Climb (it'll just be... *zap* *respawn* ...in the way while working).
  5. Move the Trigger Areas aside (align with the inside edge of the Vehicle Summoners, and overhanging the floor on either side).
  6. Place a Challenge Maker on the Large Floor block directly behind the Long Pipe Climb.
  7. Place a Scoreboard near the left of the Challenge Maker.
  8. Place a Victory Tracker near the right of the Challenge Maker.
  9. Place an Action Enforcer near the top of the Challenge Maker.
  10. Place the 1st Place Podium near the top left of the Challenge Maker.
  11. Place the 2nd Place Podium near the top right of the Challenge Maker.
  12. Place another three Large Floor blocks at the back (behind the Vehicle Summoners).
  13. Place a pair of Locators near the top/outside corners of the Podiums (e.g. at the intersections of the Large Floor blocks).
  14. Place a Logic Gate in the center of each of the newly placed Large Floor blocks.
  15. Place a Target over the center of the back edge of the Large Floor Block in the back/middle.

The "Data Center" floor should now look similar to this (as seen from above/behind):

If not, make any changes necessary, then save your Toy Box before making the following connections.

Connections

General

  • Create New Locator Connections from the Challenge Maker to the Locators next to the Podiums as Player 1 and Player 2 start.
  • Create a New Score Results Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Scoreboard and "Link Score for Results".
  • Edit the Enemy Wave Generator and Configure Wave for the Enemy(s) to be generated in each wave.

Invites Accepted

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Party Cannon to create "Confetti" when "Invites Accepted".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Scoreboard to "Reset" when "Invites Accepted".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Sky Changer to select "Radiator Springs Storm Sky" (or other) when "Invites Accepted".

Started

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Logic Gate near the Enemy Wave Generator to Open when "Started".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Party Cannon to create "Fireworks" when "Started".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Scoreboard to "Activate" when "Started".

Scoring

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Victory Tracker to the Scoreboard when Player 1 "Defeats an Enemy" to "Increment by 1" (creates multiple connections for all players).
  • Edit the Properties of the Scoreboard to "Play To" 1000 (for the "Fighting a Winning Battle" Feat), or other target score.

Game Ended (Over)

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Logic Gate near the Enemy Wave Generator to Close when "Game Ended".

Game Completed (Victory)

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Scoreboard to the Challenge Maker to "Complete the Game" when "Target Score Reached".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the 1st Place Podium to Teleport Player when "Game Completed".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the 2nd Place Podium to Teleport Player when "Game Completed".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Action Enforcer to have All players Celebrate when "Game Completed".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Party Cannon to create "Grand Finale" when "Game Completed".
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Sky Changer to select "Disney Castle Sky" (or other) when "Game Completed".

Game Failed

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Target to the Challenge Maker to have the "Game Failed" when Hit (failsafe).
  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Action Enforcer to have All players Lament when "Game Failed".

Results Closed

  • Create a New Logic Connection from the Challenge Maker to the Scoreboard to "Remove Display" when "Results Closed".

Save your Toy Box again.

Terrain

  • Move the two Locators near the Podiums to the terrain level where Player 1 and Player 2 should start (note which way they face).
  • Move the two Podiums to the terrain level where the 1st and 2nd place players should teleport to on "Game Completed" (note which way they face).
  • Move the Party Canon to the terrain level; should be visible to players before game starts and after "Game Completed" (Victory).
  • Move the Locator near the Enemy Wave Generator to the terrain level where Enemy waves should be generated. Note that it is also possible to place and link additional Locators, and then edit the Properties of the Enemy Wave Generator to "Generate at Random Locator".
  • Move the Teleporter on the terrain level to somewhere near the Locators for Player 1 and Player 2 start.
  • Move the "Small Floor" block above the terrain down to close the entrance to the Data Center (to avoid "uninvited guests").
  • Place a Trigger Area over the "Small Floor" block over the entrance (resize it if desired).
  • Create a New Logic Connection from that Trigger Area to the Challenge Maker to "Start Game" when Entered by Player 1. This also creates connections for other players; delete the links if you don't want other players to be able to start the challenge.
  • Teleport to the terrain level.

Save your Toy Box again!

Test Drive

  • Walk into the Trigger Area over the entrance to the Data Center.
  • "Start Challenge"; the player(s) should be teleported to the starting Locator(s).
  • Defeat Enemies. When the wave is defeated, a new wave should be generated.
  • Teleport back down to the Data Center, shoot the Target; this should cause "Game Failed".
  • Teleport back up to the terrain level and restart the challenge.
  • Defeat Enemies until the target score is reached. Any remaining Enemies should be removed, and the game should end as Completed (Victory).

If this gives you ideas for creating other Toy Box games, consider helping out by creating a Guide for one.
